Beach Musings - Grace

“But you, brothers, do not be weary (lose heart) in well doing (live virtuously).”  2 Thessalonians 3:13

Hmmm, does that mean even on vacation? Surely, God wants our time off to be restful and without conflict…right? After the past two days here, I don’t think so. It just may be that His thoughts about “rest” may not line up completely with mine, which is not surprising.

Rather then spend time describing the details of extended family struggles I will note this. Reconciliation is hard work and requires a whole bunch of “well DSCF2076doing”. If you lose heart in the middle of it you will miss the next part.

Being completely surprised by grace.

Grace is a powerful agent; it breathes life into difficult circumstances. It allows room and space for understanding and forgiveness to enter. That begins the road to restoration, and giving us opportunity to travel together on it.

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that in everything, always having all self-sufficiency, you may abound to every good work.”
2 Corinthians 9:8

Even on vacation, that’s a good word.

Wow, I love this thought. Grace builds the highway and then provides the vehicle to travel on it. That's beautiful and important.

Praying for you today, Jay- more grace...

I've found it's easier to avoid resolution during the day-to-day routine -- and then you go and vacation and pow!

I think God sends a lot of extra grace when He sees someone actually get willing to say, "I'm sorry."
