This poem is part of The Warrior Poet Circle hosted by blogger, fellow warrior poet and friend Jason at Endless Impact. Read more great poems over there!
The topic is LONELY and I based my on the following Scripture.

fatherless"God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched lad."
Psalm 68:6

Lonely Lesson

A bitter cry of solitude
A lonely lesson
Unwanted and unneeded
Yet, accepted and learned

It traveled with him
bringing an uneasy comfort
Like chasing daylight
with no hope of capture
Almost like being there

It cheated of course
and urged a shadow existence
A lonely lesson of dark corners
and mask wearing
A solitary confinement of
his own choosing

Over the call of desolation
a new song delivers family words
The pleading of loneliness
fades backwards into its
own emptiness
Daylight is here and so
is my new home

I really liked "a solitary confinement of his own choosing." Interesting to think about loneliness as a choice...

Appreciate that..sometimes (at least for me) it was...until God put me into a family...His!

There's a good lesson here ... in the choosing.

The poem's meaning is on two levels, or two possible levels (at least). It could be telling the story of a family moving to a new neighborhood. It could also be the story of a soul, saved. Great poem, Jay.

Thanks Glynn, I'm glad you saw the imagery of my story in there...the story of a soul saved which is like moving to a new neighborhood!
