My Word Against His

word-1 copy

My word says I am defeated, a loser.

His Word says:
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:37

My word says it's impossible.

His Word says:
“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

My word says I am alone.

His Word says:
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8

My word says I am not important.

His Word says:
“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” 1 John 4:10

My word has a lot to say about me...mostly negative. Sometimes my word snuffs the life right out of me. Each syllable reminding me of mistakes, each a drop of remorse or guilt...or worse.

Why then should I believe my word? After all...it's my word against His.

“By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1:4

Whose word do you believe?

Simple and excellent reminder. Jesus countered the devil at every step in the wilderness by quoting the eternal word. We get the same privilege as we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. Thanks Jay!

Wow.... That was powerful Jay. Well done, our word is a lie, His is perfect. Who are we going to believe? Outstanding inspiration and teaching. Thanks.

So God is the ultimate motivational coach.  It seems there should be more scriptures like those in the sermons and messages we hear. We all know we're sinners, l think we need to focus more on the victory we have in Christ.
Jay Cookingham said…
Amen to that Mike. We are a new creation in Christ and that we should focus on and live out daily. Thanks for dropping by!

May I add another Word from Him? "May He give you what your heart desires and fulfill your whole purpose." (Psalm 20:4)

There's more to come, Jay. Much more...

SO good Dad and such a good reminder that anything we believe that goes against God's Word is a lie! Let us believe our Father and Savior!
