By Invitation Only

“Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” Mark 1:17

This the greatest ongoing invitation ever given…nothing else compares. Entrance to the Kingdom of God is open; Trinity fellowship is ready to be enjoyed and a quest prepared to be shared.

By invitation only…

No pressure, no arm twisting, no gimmicks, no hard sell, no fine print, no strings attached…

Just…Come follow me…

Becoming a disciple requires a choice to follow, a buy in, a sold-out surrender to the call and to the quest to “become”. The invitation is engraved…on our hearts and our reply is to become part of the invitation. We are sent…royal invitations…wrapped in a message of love to share the Good News. The address is applied by the Master, not the disciple, where we follow and where we are sent is in His hands. Thankfully, this is a message “hand delivered” by the Master…we are sent by and in His hands.

Come follow me…what a journey!

“Christ did not appoint professors, but followers. If Christianity ... is not reduplicated in the life of the person expounding it, then he does not expound Christianity, for Christianity is a message about living and can only be expounded by being realized in men's lives.” - Soren Kierkegaard

I often say -- as do many, many others -- IF He had not kindly broken into my life, my "broken life",  which was what I was living way back then,  would be viewed today only as a "million-plus shattered life."  What a blessing to have been won over by Him.

Acceptance is the first step on a journey to eternity... and it begins with His loving invitation that leaves me speechless and amazed beyond understanding...

He invited me to be His... He invited me to follow Him... He gave His life, for me.

I gladly follow Him.

I used this example yesterday in church. Jesus didn't say, "Come follow me and I'll make you happy all the days of your life." He took what they knew and blew it up to so much bigger than they could've seen. He called out destiny in them and it changed them. We appeal too many times to selfish desires and seeking of comfort when we need to be faithful to call out destiny in other people. Good stuff, Jay! Thanks.
