Voting on my Knees

I admit to having a real difficult time this election. The candidates presented to us seem so far from the Father’s heart…I keep thinking…

Is this best we can do?

I was going to rant this morning, tell you why each candidate is unworthy to hold an office, much less than the highest one in our country. I was going to complain about a nation asking for a king instead of bowing their hearts to the King of Kings. I was…but I can’t…I feel there is something far greater at stake than electing a President tomorrow.

Father God asked me a question this morning…I think He’s asking all His sons and daughters this same one.

Who will hold your heart after the election?

The answer depends on what or who we have transferred our hope to. I admit to losing hope because there was a dearth of leadership presented to us. Some have placed their hope in one of the candidates. We give our hearts so easily to other causes, to other leaders to other hopes…and when we do…we come up empty.

And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you. Psalm 39:7

Our hearts are far more important to God than the election tomorrow. If the heart of the Church is firmly in the hands of the Father, our hope will be as well. May I encourage to earnestly be praying for tomorrow? Whoever is elected, God is still sovereign, and He still holds the heart of the “king” in His hands.

And He still holds mine…what about yours?

The past four years have been a roller coaster of emotions for me as I have grown even more politically aware. Finally, God has brought peace to me.
Change must begin within us. We can't look to a leader...though we do have a responsibility to vote as close to the Bible as possible.

Regardless of who wins...we are all still American's and it's up to each of us to be responsible for our little parts of this nation.

I've said it time and again, being American doesn't make me a different type of Christian, but being Christian should make me a different type of American.
We are in God's hands. We must cling to His promises...

2 Chron 7:14

I wrote a post on this today you might like.

You have stated my dilemma to a "T" Jay. I am not comfortable with either one. I also know NO MAN is capable of turning our nation back to Jesus, especially these two. No man can change anything. I choose to serve the King of kings. Count me in with your vote. :)

Perfect, pard. Very same prayer for heart over "victory" I sent out to our prayer group today. I'm fasting from all news til noon tomorrow, will try to be in prayer for the amount of time I usually spend on Fox and CNN.
The heart is so precious, so fragile that the Enemy has ways to steal it back that we can't imagine. If my candidate wins and i get relief, do I give him or the new/old tract my rejoicing, my hope, my heart?

Great post.

We will not find our hope in the princes of this world. But we still do our part with our neighbors in mind.

This world and this country will pass away one day. But the Word of God and His Kingdom will remain forever, and we pray that by His mercy, He will include us.

Thanks.
