How Deep

Happy Resurrection Day! He is risen!
My oldest son Joshua, did this song for Easter, it is one of his favorites and one of mine as well.
I hope it blesses you as you listen!

How Deep The Father's Love For Us

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that left Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Thanks, Josh.  Thanks, Dad. And with no heritage to credit, thank you, Lord, for the model of children walkling with you, expressing your gifting and their calling.  This prompted serious reflection today.  Second grandwonderson enters Year of Passage today. (His dad announced reservations to include me on five-day Grand Canyon hike..."No worries, Popi, we'll have a good mule and a helo-rescue waiting for you on the hike back out.").  What, dear God, will be the character, the gifting, the calling of this now 12-year old? Will he, in fact, walk with You, live with in Your story, not his as will be the case of most all his friends?  Selah

Love the fact you call your grandkids "grandwonders"...just so cool. My prayers will be lifted up for this youngman. He has many fine examples of Godly manhood to follow in his life. Bless you Gary!

And your son sang it very, very nicely.  [Good kids, Jay.]
