Leaps and Bounds

leap copy2 Leap Verb: Jump or spring a long way, to a great height, or with great force.

“I advise you to say your dream is possible and then overcome all inconveniences, ignore all the hassles and take a running leap through the hoop, even if it is in flames.” - Les Brown

Of all the weird facts of Leap Day…this one struck me the most.

Without Leap Days, the calendar would be off by 24 days within 100 years.

Without your leap of faith…what would be different in your life? What would be OFF in your life without your personal, faith fueled “Leap Days”? You know, the days that God asked you to leap through the fiery hoop of belief without checking for a net first.

Can you imagine what your life would look like without those?

What would your faith look like?

These are questions I’m asking myself while poking around memories of those times when my faith grew by leaps and bounds. As I do, I see His hand and I recognize the need for such seasons…they drive me closer to Him.

So, what about you…do any of those vaulting questions strike you?

Life without the leap would have ended for me a long time ago... Like a mustard seed that did not take root it would have vanished before it truly began.

I'm overwhelmed at how I see His goodness through those leaps that He has led me to and through. My life would look nothing like it does without them. I can say with confidence, "I am so thankful He revealed His plans and showed His way." Thanks for this great take on a leap day, Jay!

I often tell people that if the Lord hadn't broken into my life when I was 4 months shy of 20... and I  bluntly was willing to "leap" His way just to meet the contract/rules... I would have been dead long ago from alcoholism, violence, or suicide.  So, at 66, it is worth it if I leap around the house, the yard, the church, and everywhere else, just to thank Him very joyfully and gratefully.  Nice of Him, doncha think?

Yes Joanne, I think that'll work for Him! I love your "boundless" love for the Father!

The fruit of your life shows the faithfulness of our God and the "vertical" He gave ya!  Bless ya Jason!

Sometimes I think I had a bit of a push to take the leaps! Enjoyed your thoughts.

Oh, I've felt those pushes also Susan...sometimes a few pulls as well! Bless ya!

That leap of faith is a miraculous change that turns us from instinct, similar to an animal, into the true image of God. Just my thought. Without it, we're as ignorant as the animals.

And a good thought my brother! Thanks!

Personal faith-fueled Leap Day:  July 18, 2011.  The day I married a stranger after only 47 days.  BIGGEST leap of faith EVER!!  Would not have jumped at this amazing gift of an opportunity if It hadnt been for His peace that settled all about me.   And am I glad I did...something better than anything I ever dared to dream possible in my marriage to Michael, no longer a stranger, just my best friend ever and dearest brother.  Thank you, Lord!

Just knowing a little about your story and I'm amazed on how God worked it out that Mike and you leaped into each other lives...what a miracle!
