What I Like About You

klingonme copy

The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

Had a walk and talk with God today, ever do that? Anyways, here's a small snippet of the conversation.

God: "Know what I like about you?"

Me: "Ummm, no...what?

God: "I like the way you think."

Me: "Really? Even when I'm thinking about Klingons? (because I was, maybe I'll explain later)

God: "Yes, even when you're thinking about Klingons."

What does that small sampling say about my relationship with Father God?

It says...we're close. He knows how to get to my heart and encourage me, even through crazy thoughts about the Klingon Empire. You know what? I like how He thinks and how His thoughts show up in my life.

The other night I talked to one of God's heroes, a tired father of three (all adopted) young children. He's working hard, fighting the good fight and was wondering if he's doing enough...wondering if he has what it takes.

Ever been there? I know I have, so I shared a God thought with him.

Everything you need to be the dad these kids need, is in you...God the Father put it there. Before the universe was created, before the world began, God knew you would be the father of these children. He planned it...it was no accident, Also think about this...God loves them more than you...He wants the best for them right?

He answered yes.

Then look at who He chose to be their dad! He picked you to love these kids...you are a chosen man...and very much loved!

It was a great moment for him...it was a "Know what I like about you?" one.

So, when God puts you on top of his leader board and asks...Know what I like about you?

What do you hear?
