Random Catch Up
Sorry for the lapse between posts…and sorry for not visiting your blogs lately my fellow bloggers. I’m not even sure if I’m in the mood to write this post (or perhaps the right mood). So, I figured I throw some random thoughts down to update my faithful readers (both of you) on what’s happening.
Overheard as my nine-year old daughter was trying to explain something to her older sister Sarah.
"I'm just moving the truth around a bit." Becky Cookingham
Powerful quote time
“God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.” C.S. Lewis
I’ve hinted at the struggle my family is going through (What Am I Doing Here?) but we have been hit with another difficult challenge. My father-in-law has been diagnosed with cancer and has begun chemo treatments this past week. James Breden is a strong 77 year old and we trust that God will sustain him through this.
We’re all learning (in new ways) that peace can not be found apart from the Lord and that is a good thing.
Contract Smack Down
I tweeted recently (almost two weeks ago) about a book contract that I had been offered for my book RETOOLED…good news right? Well, long story short…I turned it down…yep, turned down what I have been dreaming about for years. It was disappointing and I will probably blog about it soon but I had a huge check in my spirit to not accept it…more to come.
My Prayer and Scripture Blessings
"For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him" Matthew 6 :8
I pray that no matter where you are today you would believe, know and feel the awesome love of the Father. That every decision, every relational interaction, every thought would be washed by His love first.
I pray that your steps would be secure and bold, your prayers directed and full of faith and your joy be outrageously abundant.
May the Shalom of Christ comfort any sorrow or doubt, and may the overwhelming, extravagant love of God drive fear from you.
This I pray in Jesus name for you...and me. Amen.

Thank you too for not accepting anything less than God's best--gives great encouragement to the rest of us. Blessings, my friend.
Bless you my friend, I appreciated the kind words and prayers!
I'm sorry to hear that you had to turn down the book contract but if you felt that check, you made the right decision. I know God will open up a better door and it will be perfect for you!
